Another successful contest
Fellow Pigeons,

We are pumped! Today marks the finale of our TW13 contest and the beginning of our countdown to The Masters.

As of midnight early this morning, TW13 contest entries were officially
closed. It’s been a crazy four weeks hasn’t it? Golf Pigeon has grown
incredibly fast this year, and we couldn’t be more excited about the
future. Your entries, tweets and enthusiasm have made a huge splash in
the world of golf and we can’t wait to see how far we can make that
splash go!

Later today we’ll be making a huge combined Week Four & Grand Prize
Winner announcement, so stay tuned because you won’t want to miss it!
We’re currently busy pecking away at the list of entrants, feeding the
guinea pigs that power our top secret winner-picking machine, and making
sure everything is good to go for the big announcement. Thanks to all
of the TW13 entrants, and good luck to everyone!

The Pigeon Point of View 3/19/12
Cool Hand Luke, The Boss of the Moss, and Yani all win on Sunday on their respective tours. I was able to watch much of the golf action over the weekend, and was very impressed with each of these players.  When tournaments are complete, sometimes the manner in which a player manages to win gets lost in the headlines, trophies and check presentations. I try to keep a bird’s eye view on the golf down the stretch to learn, and give other golfers a brief look at how they won.

Luke Donald aka “Cool Hand Luke” goes BOGEY FREE in the final round for a 5 under 66 at the Transitions Championship. As if that wasn’t enough, he won a four man playoff with an amazing second shot to just a few feet from the right rough. This victory was even sweeter for Luke as he regained the spot as World #1.

Loren Roberts aka  “The Boss of the Moss“ roped in his 13th Champions Tour title at the Toshiba Classic by outlasting former PGA Tour major winners: Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer and Mark Calcavecchia. Roberts capped off a two shot victory with a birdie on the final hole.

Yani Tseng aka “Yani” won her second LPGA event of 2012 by one shot at the LPGA Founders Cup. Now, this young lady has played so well over the past few years, some forget just how difficult it is to win. She has won 2 of her 4 events played in 2012. She closed with a final round 68 to win by one shot over Na Yeon Chi and Ai Miyazato. I feel she is the best golfer in the world right now!

From the Pigeon’s view point, overall golf is as competitive and entertaining as it has ever been. I am looking forward to 2012 with great anticipation for all the professional tours.  I am not sure what more I could ask for as a golf fanatic, in short “I Love this Game.” I shall fly on now and look forward to hearing from you all real soon, until then “Play On”

Golf Pigeon at The Masters 2012!
As most golf fans around the world know, the first week in April means one thing and one thing only – THE MASTERS.
Here at Golf Pigeon we look forward to this week in April every year with great anticipation.  Normally, we set aside time during the week to gather, eat and watch every shot that TV offers on its Masters coverage.  The commercials, the music, the videos and pictures of past Masters events send pigeon bumps down the arms of all of us.

Since the start of 2012, we’ve  been looking forward to the week of The Masters like most young kids (and the young at heart) look forward to Christmas morning.  We’re excited to let our users know that this year will be a little different for us, which in turn means that it will be different for you.  This year we will be attending the Masters!  Our trip will include a variety of things, some of which will include special site updates for all our users to enjoy!  Our time in Augusta will be fast and furious, and we’ll do our best to bring our awesome community as much insight to our trip as possible.

As always, keeping our users in mind, we’ll show you all as much of Augusta National as time allows.  This trip will involve both work and fun as we step foot on perhaps the finest golf course the world has ever seen.  We look forward to bringing you all the pieces of our first trip and updating the site with pictures and information that will add excitement and enjoyment to your Masters week.

We’re still busy preparing for our trip to Augusta, as well as working daily on all things Golf Pigeon.  We look forward to sharing our experience with you all and hope that your Masters Week will be as memorable as we feel ours will be.  See you at the 19th hole!
